This was a diverse workout.  32 runners went to Sunnyvale Baylands for 4 miles of running and 6 hill repeats.  29 runners who missed the workout yesterday morning ran the same repeat 800s workout that we ran yesterday but with a 4-minute rest in between runs.  15 runners who missed both the Friday and Monday workouts ran a 3200M to determine whether they were sufficiently fit to run our 2.1M race on Thursday.  And the remaining runners ran 5 miles.

This was an In-Service day for the teachers.  So, we had practice at 10AM under threatening skies. Fortunately, we got hit with only one brief shower.  All of the boys ran a 2-mile warmup and a 2-mile warmdown.  The girls ran a 2-mile warmup and 1-mile warmdown.  We split the runners into two groups with the faster runners  running in the first group.  Group #1 started every 6 minutes and group #2 started every 7 minutes.

Well-conditioned runners ran 2.3 miles over to Bracher and 2.3 miles back.  Medium-conditioned runners ran 1.6 miles over to Bracher and 1.6 miles back.  Beginning runners ran 0.6 miles over to Bracher and 0.6 miles back.

 

The intent was to have 4 teams with the leadoff runner running 3 x 720s and the 2nd runner on each team running 2 x 360. Things did not work out right as we had to make a few substitutions.
